Nativity 4pm
Midnight Communion 11.30pm
Christmas Eve holds a very special place in our hearts at the Good Shepherd. We welcome all to tell the story of the Navity with costumes and banter, and with a a moment of candlit quiet as we sing Silent Night and reflect on how noisy it probably was for Mary and Joseph, as Jesus was a traditional human new born, and the cows, sheep, hens and pigs were no doubt making their presence known. The story is not all as it seems in the carols, may Jesus illuminate a new part of it this year in your hearts.
We then move on to Midnight Communion a time of peace and stillness and gathered joy as we welcome in Christmas at it’s first moment and sing for the first time in 2023 ‘Yea Lord we greet thee, born this happy morning’. Come and contemplate, come and reflect, come and be held by the Holy child of Mystery Immanuel.
