Evening Service 6.30pm
Sunday 8th June
Gather together to worship God as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, a day we remember the Holy Spirit coming upon the disciples as they waited for….well they didn’t really know what they were waiting for, but they waited in obedience to Jesus instruction before he ascended into heaven. What a crazy few months these people had experienced. As we join with them in inviting the Holy Spirit to reinvigor our world, sometimes standing in confidence, sometimes standing in fear, may we find the trust we need to embrace the hope that Jesus talks about in Luke 24;
‘What comes next is very important: I am sending what my Father promised to you, so stay here in the city until he arrives, until you’re equipped with power from on high’. He then led them out of the city over to Bethany. Raising his hands he blessed them, and while blessing them, took his leave being carried up to heaven. And they were on their knees, worshipping him.
Remember all the ways the Holy Spirit encounters our ordinary everyday and makes what seems ordinary, extraordinary.
